Abstract

The announcement was made by the BJP driven Government of India towards the withdrawn of the Rs 500 and Rs. 1000 denominated currency notes to curb the black money, corruption and terrorism from the society. As soon the announcement was made on 8 November 2016 towards the demonetisation of all ₹500 and ₹1000 notes to be legal tender a shock was made not only to the common man but to all the national and political parties including the existing rural party people. The sentimental speeches against black money made by Prime Minister Modi draws a huge crowd of the educated people offering support to the demonetization but became a nightmare for the common poor man of the country. With the immediate reaction by the opposite political parties oppose the demonetization drive to the great extent. The continuous adjournment of both the houses indicates this scenario (Kumar & Kocher, 2017). Even after the advancement of two years the wounds are still found on the people and the political partiesgenerating impact on the state elections 2018. This paper is an attempt to identify its impact on state elections, to draw the conclusions and suggest remedies to overcome it.
